Colts Sign Mike Mitchell

The Indianapolis Colts have signed free agent veteran safety Mike Mitchell, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.

Mitchell, 31, spent the past four seasons playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers and was one of several quality safeties that sat on the free agent market for far longer than expected, due to a slow moving market pace.

Mitchell was cut by the Steelers back in March.

Jets’ Marcus Maye To Miss 3-4 Weeks

New York Jets safety Marcus Maye is expected to miss 3-4 weeks of action after suffering a broken thumb during New York’s game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, according to the New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta.

Maye has suffered his fair share of injuries during his young career. Maye underwent an ankle scope during the offseason, and suffered another foot injury back in September of this regular season.

Broncos’ Ronald Leary Has Torn Achilles

The Denver Broncos will be without offensive guard Ronald Leary for the remainder of the season as the veteran tore his Achilles during the second half of Denver’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Denver will likely turn to Max Garcia to take Leary’s spot on the line.

Chiefs’ De’Anthony Thomas Suffers Broken Leg

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas will miss significant time after suffering a broken leg during what is being described as a “freak accident”, according to Chiefs’ trainer Rick Burkholder.

Anthony leg was stepped on by another player, which caused a fracture similar to the injury he suffered during the final game of the 2017 regular season.

The Chiefs believe that he will not need surgery, but his status for the remainder of the season is up in the air.
