Bills’ Josh Allen Says There Is ‘No Pressire’ Ahead Of Rookie Season

Published

on

The Buffalo Bills are hoping that rookie quarterback Josh Allen can turn into the franchise quarterback that they were hoping they drafted in the 1st round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Allen certainly has the poise, saying that he feels ‘no pressure’ ahead of his first season in the league.

“There’s really no pressure,” Allen said, according to Dominic LoVallo of the Bills website.

“There’s nothing that’s been said to me that has made me feel uncomfortable or feel worried about anything at all. I’m here to get better, I’m here to be the best teammate, the best quarterback that I can be. That’s what I’m trying to do.”

It’s feasible that Allen could win the starting gig in training camp as he will battle it out with AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman for the job.

Jets Unlikely To Fire Mike Maccagnan

Despite what appears to be another lost season, the New York Jets are considered unlikely to fire general manager Mike Maccagnan, according to SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano.

Furthermore, the report indicates that while Maccagnan’s job appears to be safe for now, head coach Todd Bowles is on the hot seat.

Due Maccagnan’s long-stated plan to compete for a playoff berth in 2019, ownership sees him as not falling short of their expectations, making it likely that they will move forward with the general manager despite Bowles’ likely departure.

The Jets will have around $100 million in cap space in the 2019 offseason, and are putting their faith in Maccagnan to put something together in 2019.

Dolphins’ Ryan Tannehill Throwing Without Pain

Published

on

The Miami Dolphins may have quarterback Ryan Tannehill back when the team plays the Indianapolis Colts following their bye this week, as head coach Adam Gase provided an update concerning Tannehill’s status.

“That was the start of their throwing progression after so many off,” Gase said earlier this week, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “It seemed like it went well. It’s not like he’s out there throwing 60-yard throws. They have a progression of how they want to do it. They said it was a good first step and he felt good. So that’s a positive.”

Tannehill has missed the last five games because of a capsule injury in his throwing shoulder, and the team has been rolling with Brock Osweiler under center.

Gase said that Tannehill is on a pitch count right now but the team is hoping that he will be fully cleared by next Wednesday’s practice so he can be a full go against the Colts.

“It’s a pitch count, distance,” Gase said. “There are a lot of factors involved. It’s like what they’re doing right now – it’s like don’t throw any balls over 15 yards, don’t through any over 20, 25. It’s going to be a progression. He didn’t throw a ball there for a while. We’ve got to be careful. There has to be a buildup from there.”

Patriots’ Tom Brady Responds to Talk of His Decline

Published

on

New England Patriots legendary quarterback Tom Brady is addressing talk from critics who say that the 41-year old future Hall of Famer is suffering his eventual decline this season, following his terrible performance in the loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

During that game, Brady completed a season-low 51 percent of his passes for 254 yards and no touchdowns and provided another bump in what has been a rocky overall performance from Brady this season.

“Everything is different from one year to the next,” Brady said, according to Westwood One’s Jim Gray.

“I think you keep working at it the same way. Those things haven’t changed for me. I’m sure some of my statistics have changed. But I feel good out there. And I feel like do I want to play better? I absolutely want to play better. I want to play best as I possibly can for my team, and that’s what my job is to do. Certainly, yesterday was not a great performance. I got to go out there and play my very best these next six weeks to give our team the best chance. And that’s what I want to do.”
