Former Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis has been medially cleared from a core injury that led to his release by the Colts back in November, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Davis’ play dipped but when he earned Pro Bowl nods back in 2014 and 2015 and his experience should draw interest from cornerback needy teams in free agency.

Davis’ poor play in 2016 led to a demotion that reportedly Davis did not take well. Injury played a role in his down year in 2017, but approaching the age of 30, it is unlikely that Davis regains his Pro Bowl form.

However, he could bounce back to provide solid depth for a secondary in need.
