Seattle Seahawks All-Pro veteran cornerback Richard Sherman is expecting to return to the team in 2018, despite a lot of experts forecasting otherwise.

Sherman is eyeing another season in Seattle and is acting as his own agent in negotiations, according to ESPN’s Brady Henderson.

Seattle seems to be a team looking to make some tough cuts this offseason as they look to retool for 2018 and beyond and many predict that Sherman is one of the tough departures on tap.

However, Sherman is optimistic that he can stay a Seahawk.

“I’m sure we’ll have some communication,” Sherman said. “I’m representing myself. The whole agent thing is really overrated at this point. So any conversations we have, we’ll do that, but the cap situation is already kind of weird, so we’ll see what happens.”
