The Seattle Seahawks have made a change at defensive coordinator.

The team parted ways with current defensive coordinator Kris Richard, and have hired new San Francisco 49ers Assistant Head Coach /linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr.

Richard had been with Seattle since 2010 and while there were rumblings that the Seahawks were looking to make a change, Richard started off this week still in his role with the team.

Norton Jr. was fired as the Raiders defensive coordinator due to the unit’s struggles, and he eventually landed in San Francisco as a part of Kyle Shanahan’s staff over a week ago.

However, a clause in Norton’s deal will allow him to take the job in Seattle, leaving the 49ers in the dust so quickly after taking the job.

Norton Jr. was Seattle’s linebackers coach from 2010-2014.
