Hours after firing offensive coordinator Mike Shula, the Carolina Panthers already know who they want as their next offensive coordinator.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Panthers head coach Ron Rivera is interested in bringing Norv Turner into the fold.

Turner was last in the league back in 2016 as the Minnesota Vikings’ offensive coordinator, but abruptly left following a disagreement with head coach Mike Zimmer.

Turner had been waiting for the right opportunity, with the right quarterback, to get back in to the NFL coaching ranks.

Turner could be an excellent addition to the Panthers and could help quarterback Cam Newton return to MVP-type production.
