The Panthers have hired Brady Hoke as their defensive line coach, per SportingNews.
Hoke will fill in at the position after Eric Washington moved to defensive coordinator.
Hoke played as a linebacker for Ball State from 1977-1980. Hoke started coaching in 1983 at Grand Valley State.
He has coached for 34 years, often on the defensive side of the ball. He has served as Defensive coordinator, defensive line and as linebacker coach.
Recently he served stints at Michigan, Oregon and Tennessee. He served as the University of Tennessee’s interim head coach and defensive line coach in 2017.
Hoke’s Michigan defense in 2014 was ranked 7th in the country. Hoke has an overall record of 78-70 as head coach. He is 2-3 in bowl games.
2018 will be the first year Hoke will coach in the NFL.
