New England Patriots head coach reportedly has interest in the New York Giants head coaching vacancy in light of recent reports of divide within the Patriots organization.

Belichick, who was the Giants’ defensive coordinator from 1985 to 1990, “sees an opening” to coach the Giants and that this offseason “is his last chance” to take the gig, according to New York Daily News’ Gary Myers.

ESPN’s Seth Wickersham reported that Belichick had grown frustrated in New England, detailing a rift between the legendary head coach, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and quarterback Tom Brady. The trading of Jimmy Garopolo is another issue that has wedged a divide between coach and organization.

It’s hard to imagine the Patriots and Belichick parting ways, but this story will continue to have legs as the postseason rolls on and if the drama effects the Patriots on the field.
