The New York Jets and defensive end Kony Ealy, have begun discussing a contract extension, Kaly told Darryl Slater of NJ.com.

“Definitely,” Ealy said of extension talks taking place. “Just got to wait and see. You never know what happens. It’s a long way from that now. Just got to worry about finishing out the year.”

Ealy, who was a second-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2014, has a rookie deal that expires at the end of the season.
