The Arizona Cardinals are working on a deal that would keep quarterback Blaine Gabbert in Arizona, according to Mike Jurecki of 98.7 FM.

Injuries created an opportunity for the veteran signal caller and Gabbert has played well enough to warrant an additional investment from the Cardinals.

An extension would be smart, considering the uncertainty of quarterback Carson Palmer, who may opt to retire at the conclusion of the season and will be 38 later this month.
