The Browns have released wide receiver Kenny Britt, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Britt will be subject to waivers.
Cleveland signed Britt to a four-year, $32.5M deal in the offseason but the signing has been a complete bust.
Britt has been lackluster notching 18 catches for 233 yards and two touchdowns this season.
According to Schefter, head coach Hue Jackson and former Browns czar Sashi Brown clashed internally about whether to play Britt. Jackson was not a fan of Britt, benching him against the Minnesota Vikings and later suspending him for their game against the Tennessee Titans for missing curfew.
The Browns are out $10.5M but it appears they feel it is a fair price to pay to rid themselves of a perceived headache.
