The Cleveland Browns are still winless and the status of head coach Hue Jackson remains uncertain as the team’s dreadful season winds down.

The franchise has pledged that Jackson would be back in 2018, but things can always change, especially if the Browns do complete a winless season.

With the announcement that Marvin Lewis will be parting ways with the Cincinnati Bengals, Jackson, who coached under Lewis in Cincy, has been linked to the upcoming head coaching gig.

“I’ve kind of known about Marvin,” Jackson said (via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com).

“Obviously, we all know that Marvin is a close friend, but trust me, I’m not running from this. I’ve never gone any place and left it worse than when I found it. I’m going to be here, and I need to get this fixed as fast as I can because it’ important.”

If the Bengals do want Jackson and Jackson wants to move to Cincy, then the Bengals and Browns might have to work out a trade, assuming Jackson isn’t fired, to make it happen.
