While Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is on the sidelines awaiting his chance to return to the field after sustaining a brutal knee injury last season, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has announced who his starter will be.

Zimmer announced that Case Keenum will remain the starting quarterback for Minnesota’s upcoming tilt against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

It’s not a shocking decision considering that Keenum threw for 304 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions in a win over the Washington Redskins last week.

Keenum is 5-2 when starting for the Vikings and has the third-best total QBR (72.6) behind injured Houston Texans rookier quarterback Deshaun Watson and Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott, according to ESPN.

Minnesota is in first place at 7-2 and their upcoming game against the Rams come with heavy playoff implications and a lot of storyline interest, especially for Keenum, who played for the Rams last season and was eventually benched for Rams starting quarterback Jared Goff.
