Carolina Panthers injured tight end Greg Olsen will have his surgically repaired right foot checked by orthopedic foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson on Monday, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

Olsen returned, after missing 8 games, on Sunday as the Panthers played the New York Jets but did not finish the game.

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera but stated that Olsen wanted to return to the field for the second half of Sunday’s game but that Olsen experienced soreness in the foot.

“Knowing how these things are coming off [an injury] are sometimes a little tricky and when you’re dealing with your foot there’s only so much you can do,” Olsen said.

“We just thought it would be best not to go crazy out there on that turf.”
