Detroit Lions safety Tavon Wilson will undergo shoulder surgery which will bring his season to an end, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Wilson, who has started 9 games for the Lions this season, has hurt his shoulder three times this year leading to an underwhelming and often time ineffective on-field performance.

Detroit will likely turn to 2016 fourth-round pick Miles Killebrew to fill in for Wilson, but Wilson’s days in Detroit may be done as he is scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency in 2018.
