The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have decided to cut cornerback Byron Maxwell after the cover man fell out of favor with the coaching staff.

Maxwell’s lack of performance and his refusal to play the defenses called by coaches, per Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald, contributed to the decision.

Now that Maxwell is hitting the free agent market, teams with a need at corner will be picking up the phone.

One of those teams, is one of Maxwell’s former teams.

The Seattle Seahawks have interest in bringing Maxwell back into the fold as they continue to search for a #2 corner to pair with Richard Sherman.

No visit has been scheduled as of the time of this report, but Seattle is expected to explore their interest in Maxwell soon.
