The ink on new Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Tj Ward’s contract isn’t dry yet but he is jumping at the chance to discuss his release from the Denver Broncos.

Ward claims that his release happened in a “completely unprofessional” manner, according to NFL Network’s Peter Schrager.

Broncos team president and general manager John Elway had the following to say about Ward when Denver announced his release.

“He was a respected teammate whose attitude and physical mindset played a big part in our success, especially during our Super Bowl run,” Elway said, per’s Jeff Legwold.

“We thank T.J. for his contributions as a Bronco and wish him nothing but the best in the future.”

The move appears to be financially motivated as Denver saved $4.5 million by cutting Ward before the start of the regular season.
