The Buffalo Bills have made an offseason of surprising moves and on Sunday they continued that trend.

The Bills have cut running back Jonathan Williams, who was expected to play significant time behind Bills starter LeSean McCoy.

Williams was expected to fill the void left by Mike Gillislee who left in free agency to the New England Patriots.

The cutting of Williams, a 2015 fifth-round pick, leaves Buffalo with Mike Tolbert, Joe Banyard and Taiwan Jones as their only options.

Williams posted 94 yards and one touchdown in 11 games during the 2016 season.
