Redskins’ Josh Norman Upset Over ‘Bow-And-Arrow’ Ban

Published

on

Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman is not happy with the NFL these days and it voicing his displeasure publicly.

The NFL will ban his bow-and-arrow celebration in the 2017 season. Yes, the “No Fun League” has struck again.

ESPN’s John Keim reported that on Sunday the league visited the Redskins’ camp and stated that any type of celebrations, on the field or on the sidelines, involving imaginary weaponry use will be flagged.

Norman took issue.

“You’re just picking on one person here,” Norman said, per the report.

“[Brandin] Cooks has been doing it for years, and now all of a sudden you want to quit and stop it? Why is that?”

Norman also pointed out the stadium celebrations by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (cannon shooting) and the New England Patriots (musket shooting) and asked; “If one of them is bad and looked at as dangerous, how come not all of them are looked at in that way?”

Norman was fined $10,000 for performing the celebration last season.

“It’s not like you’re shooting at somebody,” Norman continued.

“You’re shooting up. It gets the crowd excited, something to where everyone’s getting pumped up, so why take that away? What for?”

Browns, Josh Gordon Fallout

Published

on

Now that the Cleveland Browns have officially parted ways with wide receiver Josh Gordon, who was traded to the New England Patriots on Monday, details are emerging to what led the Browns to finally cut ties with the problematic wideout.

According to Zac Jackson of The Athletic , the issue wasn’t that Gordon suffered a hamstring injury, which was initially reported by the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot, but due to Gordon’s off field issues, with the latest involving what the Browns see as dishonesty from Gordon.

Gordon reportedly misled the Browns by saying he was participating in a photo shoot for his clothing line at the team’s facility on Friday, but instead was doing drills for a hype video, which took up to 90 minutes, and ended when Gordon seemed to have tweaked his hamstring while participating in the drills.

Gordon missed a team meeting the following morning, and after he arrived 10 minutes late, he went into the training room.

Gordon also did not participate in the portion of Saturday morning’s workout open to the media, per Cabot.

Cabot also reports that Gordon is not doing well financially, owes a lot of people money, and may have done this to get to free agency sooner, allowing him to cash in on a big free agency contract with another team

Regardless, the Browns accomplished their goal of ridding themselves of Gordon, and the Patriots got some much-needed wide receiver help.
