The Los Angeles Chargers placed rookie wide receiver Mike Williams on the physically unable to perform list, the team announced on Sunday.

The 7th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft won’t be expected to practice in training camp as he continues to recover from a back injury. Williams was diagnosed with a herniated disk after his 1st practice in rookie minicamp and hasn’t been able to practice since.

“Mike saw our doctors yesterday and he will continue to progress on Dr. Robert Watkins’ plan. He will rehab and strengthen his back and is not expected to practice during training camp,” the Chargers said in an official statement.
